A PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR

O Creator of All Things New

As the dawn of this year breaks,

We pause in gratitude for the Light of Your Presence 

Emmanuel, God with us

in a world darkened by sin and evil

We seek the strength to sow seeds of peace,

to be instruments of Your justice, 

Where the cries of the marginalized echo, 

And the shadows of despair linger. 

Grant us the courage in this New Year to stand, 

To lift our voices for the voiceless,

To weave a tapestry of understanding, 

Binding our differences in a shared humanity. 

May our hearts, like vessels, overflow with compassion for those who suffer,

May our love be sufficiently fierce to challenge oppression, 

May we have the wisdom to see the divine in every face.

As we journey through a year anew, 

Let each step be a prayer for unity,

Each word a balm for the wounded, 

Each action a reflection of Your grace. 

By the power of your Holy Spirit, 

May we walk together in the Light

Creating a world where love reigns,

Where peace finds all in its embrace

And justice flows like a mighty river. 

We pray these things 

through the Light of the World, 

Jesus the Christ. Amen.
